Knesset Passes 'Reasonableness' Law as Judicial Reform Opponents Boycott Final Vote

Israel's parliament, the Knesset, passed the first key section of the Netanyahu coalition's judicial reform law Monday, as protesters clashed with police outside the building. Competing factions of lawmakers worked to reach a compromise, but the talks failed, and the opposition boycotted the final vote, which passed 64-0, with all members of the coalition voting in favor. Thousands of Israelis marched on Jerusalem over the weekend, protesting the judicial reform legislation. Supporters of the reform bill also gathered in Tel Aviv to stand with the coalition. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who was hospitalized this weekend for an implant of a pacemaker, returned to the Knesset and took part in the negotiations before the final vote was cast. The Histadrut Labor Federation said after the vote that it will organize nationwide strikes. Its leader Arnon Bar-David said "any universal advancement of the reform will have grave consequences," according to The Times of Israel, "up to and including a full strike" of workers’ unions throughout Israel.

Protests For, Against Judicial Reform Sweep Israel as Knesset Prepares to Vote

Thousands of Israelis marched on Jerusalem over the weekend, protesting the government's judicial reform legislation. Supporters of the reform bill also gathered in Tel Aviv to stand with the coaltion. A Knesset vote on one part of judicial reform is expected Monday, the next step in Israel's ongoing domestic crisis. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who was hospitalized this weekend for an implant of a pacemaker, is expected to return to the Knesset for the vote. The opposition maintains the judicial reform proposal will weaken the Supreme Court and open a path to dictatorship, Israeli author and globalist advisor to world leaders, Yuval Noah Harari, described the following scenario: “With the Supreme Court neutralized, the government could easily rig the elections for example by denying Arab citizens voting rights or by closing down all independent media outlets. Israel will still hold elections just as Russia holds elections but it will become a dictatorship.” Yet supporters of the legislation say it reins in a runaway Supreme Court.

Critics Say Biden White House LGBTQ Foreign Policy Becoming National Security Threat

The White House has made the LGBTQ agenda a foreign policy priority. It's pressuring developing nations to drop their laws against homosexuality, and some believe it is a threat to our national security. One of the first things President Joe Biden did after entering the White House was to order government agencies to put the United States at the forefront of the global fight against anti-LGBTQ laws in other nations, many of them Christian nations. He has participated in celebrating the homosexual agenda, and wished members of the community, "Happy Pride year, Happy Pride Life." Biden has appointed an international envoy for LGBTQ issues and made Pride Month a fixture at U.S. embassies. This is a major foreign policy shift, de-prioritizing the fight for religious freedom and elevating the struggle for the rights of LGBTQ persons.

China Expands Influence in U.S. Backyard with Planned Military Training Facility in Cuba

As part of its greater military and economic designs on Latin America and the Western Hemisphere, China has built a signals intelligence facility at Bejucal, Cuba, just 90 miles from the US mainland. It allows China to monitor US military communications throughout the southern United States. When its existence was first reported last month, the Pentagon denied it. Brig. Gen. Pat Ryder, a spokesperson for the Pentagon, said that the time, "We are not aware of China and Cuba developing any type of spy station." Later, National Security Council Spokesman John Kirby evaded, but admitted the base exists.  "We're not going to be able to get into too much detail about our own counterintelligence efforts," he remarked. We now know that not only is there a Chinese spy base in Cuba, but it isn't new. A former intelligence official told the Miami Herald that it's been there since 1992, and the U.S. government has known about it. Now there are reports the Chinese plan to expand the spy base into a military training facility. What form it will take is unclear, but clues might be gleaned from a base China built on Mischief Reef near the Spratly Islands in the South China Sea. It includes a landing strip, hangars and a listening post.

Why the US is Willing to Send Ukraine Cluster Munitions Now

The Biden administration has agreed to provide controversial cluster munitions to Ukraine that it says could help its forces penetrate Russia's defensive lines, but that many nations have pledged not to use again due to risks to civilians. In previous conflicts cluster munitions have remained on the battlefield long after a conflict has ended, and unexploded rounds have maimed or killed children and adults. The Pentagon said it would be careful to send only variants that have low dud rates, meaning there will be far fewer unexploded rounds that can result in unintended civilian deaths.
